Topical Botox

Scientific Evidence:
Emerging clinical evidence suggests that topical botulinum toxin type A applied after microneedling may enhance improvement in the appearance of atrophic acne scars compared with microneedling alone.
A second supportive study found microneedling plus topical botulinum toxin A produced acne-scar improvement comparable to microneedling plus PRP: Albalat et al., 2023
Botulinum toxin may support more favorable scar formation. Research has found that botulinum toxin type A injected around freshly closed facial wounds can temporarily reduce the muscular tension pulling across the incision during healing. In a prospective, blinded, placebo-controlled study, treated wounds developed significantly less noticeable scars than wounds receiving saline. A later meta-analysis of 11 randomized trials also found improved scar quality, thinner scars and greater patient satisfaction with botulinum toxin treatment. This scar-modulating application is off-label, and research is continuing.

PDRN is composed of purified DNA fragments studied for their ability to support skin repair and the collagen- and elastin-rich extracellular matrix.

Scientific Evidence:
Emerging clinical research suggests that topical salmon-derived PDRN may improve the appearance of fine lines while supporting dermal thickness, density, firmness and elasticity.
In a 2026 randomized, double-blind, split-face clinical study of 31 women, topical salmon-derived PDRN was applied twice daily for 28 days. Researchers observed improvements in periocular wrinkles, dermal thickness and density, firmness and elasticity, with no reported adverse reactions. Evidence for smooth PDO threads in wrinkle and scar correction remains emerging and is based on relatively small studies. The cited studies evaluated PDO monothreads as a category, not V Soft Lift specifically. Individual results vary
Why Don’t We Offer PRP With Microneedling?
PRP microneedling, sometimes marketed as a “vampire facial,” requires a blood draw and additional processing to isolate platelet-rich plasma. While PRP can be effective, it is no longer the only evidence-informed option for enhancing microneedling.
In a comparative split-face study of patients with atrophic acne scars, microneedling with topical botulinum toxin A produced results comparable to microneedling with PRP. We offer modern, blood-free enhancements, including topical botulinum toxin A and VAMP PDRN, without venipuncture or processing your blood.
Our approach provides a more streamlined experience while allowing us to select an enhancement based on your individual skin concerns and goals.

Your Comfort During Treatment
Your comfort is part of every treatment plan. Before SkinPen microneedling, we apply topical numbing cream and allow time for it to take effect, helping minimize discomfort throughout the procedure. Sensitivity can vary depending on the treatment area and microneedling depth.
When smooth PDO threads are added, topical numbing may be sufficient for some placements. For certain areas—or based on your personal preference—your treatment nurse may also use injected lidocaine for additional comfort. We’ll discuss the options with you before treatment and tailor the approach to your needs.

PDO Smooth Threads:
Add-on pricing is $9 per thread. A full-neck treatment typically uses approximately 20 threads—about $180 as an add-on—but the number and placement depend on your anatomy, skin concerns and goals. Your treatment nurse will assess your skin and create a customized treatment plan with exact pricing on the day of your visit. When NOT provided as an add-on to microneedling, Smooth Threads is $150 plus $9 per thread.
